As a mixed-media artist, my work is a conversation between the past and present, shaped by my deep connection to nature and the ocean as well as the intricate relationships we share with our environment.

Equally important is the mediums I choose to use in my creative process. In my cyanotype and painted works, I employ an intuitive approach. By treating printmaking paper with environmentally friendly light-sensitive chemicals, I create a canvas for locally collected plant life, which I expose to sunlight. This process not only preserves the beauty of these organic forms but also invites a dialogue between the natural and the artistic process. Once developed, I hand paint over the prints, layering color and mark-making to add depth and personal expression.

I’ve also worked extensively with encaustic since 2012, in combination with photography, to create depth and an ethereal quality that is unique to this medium. While I continue to value its distinct capabilities, my approach to encaustic is evolving in new ways.

Growing up on the East Coast has instilled in me a profound appreciation for our oceans and landscapes. Nautical maps often find their way into my pieces, weaving personal travel experiences into the fabric of my work. Through my art, I aim to foster a deeper awareness of our interconnectedness with the environment and highlight the urgent need to preserve it for future generations.

Ultimately, to inspire viewers to reflect on their relationship with nature and recognize the vital role we all play in its stewardship.
