Spartina / Cedars / Palms is a series born from a desire to engage in a spontaneous and collaborative process with nature. The work draws directly from the coastal landscape—utilizing organic materials found washed ashore or growing along the shoreline as both inspiration and medium to create my cyanotypes.

While some of the early pieces were created on-site, the majority were developed in the studio using the collected natural elements. These materials became central to the art making process, informing both the structure and texture of each piece.

The series also reflects an exploration of color—specifically, the subtle, shifting hues observed by me in the coastal environment. This palette, rooted in place, deepens the connection between the organic forms and the environments from which they came.

Spartina / Cedars / Palms invites viewers into an intimate dialogue between nature, process, and material—capturing a quiet collaboration between myself and the landscape.
